Scheduled Transaction Changes for in MoneyWell 2
Scheduled transactions generate new transactions based on the recurrence rules that you set as open transactions on the dates specified.
This is different from MoneyWell 1.7 that generated dozens of pending transactions. This new method eliminates several problems with updating future transactions cleanly.
Forecasting Future Balances
Pending transactions were used by some to forecast future account balances, but that isn't an accurate projection tool unless every single future expense is set up as a scheduled repeating transaction. Most people don't schedule grocery trips, lunches, and other non-bill related expense, which makes accounts look like they will have more money than they will actually have after all transactions are added.
MoneyWell 2.0 changes the forecasting focus to the Spending Plan view with events that give a much more complete picture of cash flow. Future versions will enhance and improve this functionality.
