FAQ for Moneywell 2.0?
I was wondering if you could provide a FAQ for Moneywell 2.0
which could answer some of the following questions?
1. What will the migration from Moneywell 1.7 to Moneywell 2.0 need
to be?
2. Will this require a new purchase of the iPhone app? Will a new
app work with MW 1.7?
3. Will this continue to use Dropbox sync?
4. Will MW 1.7 continue to be supported?
5. What are the difference or enhancements in MW 2.0 vs MW 1.7?
Thanks,
John

Hi John,
MoneyWell 2 has a variety of advancements:
1. It's built for Lion, so it has full-screen support, auto restore, and auto save.
2. The interface has been redesigned. The bucket view and account view are now separate to use space more efficiently and to make filtering less confusing.
3. The spending plan is now based on events. This makes it easier to build the spending plan and when you come back to edit it in the future, it will be easier to see what makes up the budget amount and to adjust based on how your expenses have changed. There are also more options for how you schedule events, rather than just based on a month-long cycle.
4. Reports are now easy to see on screen, and they'll update immediately as you change filter options. You can still print them, of course.
5. Quick Filters and Smart Filters: You can easily filter the current view using options at the top of the screen. You can also save filters as Smart Filters and edit them as needed.
6. You can assign tags in transactions. These can be used in the Smart Filters.
7. Investments are now supported.
8. There are more repeating options, such as a particular day of the week or certain dates each month. There is also a date picker for the transaction date.
Let me know if I can answer anything else.
Thanks,
Tamara

This comment was split into a new discussion: MoneyWell 2
I have a question about Moneywell 2. Currently when I search transactions, it only finds transactions in Accounts but not in Bucket Flow. Will that be changed in the upcoming version? It would be really helpful for when there is a problem.

Bill: If you bought it from us directly, just download the update. If you got it from the App Store, check there for the update.

Because it's a paid upgrade, we can't use the auto updater. There's no way to make sure that only the people who want the update would get it. Those who don't might download it accidentally.
You can grab MoneyWell 2.0 from the [download page](http://nothirst.com/moneywell/download.html) and move it to your Applications folder. When you run it, check under **MoneyWell > Get License...** menu and it should update your license automatically.

First, I'm using a Mac.
Second when I go to the download page/link (below) all i get is the "Welcome To MoneyWell" screen.
It has "Open Sample Document" (so its not that one)
"Start a New Document" (is it this one?)
"Watch MoneyWell Tutorials"(not this one either
There is no application icon to move to my application folder.
Please help

Bill,
To move to your Applications folder, you should quit MoneyWell and in the Finder move it from where it was downloaded (most likely the Downloads folder) to the Applications folder. Then launch again.
What you are seeing is the Welcome Panel that opens after launching MoneyWell. You can use it to create a new document, or click the Open Other button in the lower left to open your existing MoneyWell document.
Thanks,
Tamara
