Will not open last file in Snow Leopard

Since installing Snow Leopard, Moneywell no longer opens the last file when I start the program. I double checked and I DO have "Open last document on startup" checked in the prefs.

Each time I start the new user wizard pops up and I have to manually select my data file. Also noticed the File/Open Recent menu shows no entries.

Peter: Please try deleting your MoneyWell preferences file located under your home folder (~/Library/Preferences/com.NoThirst.MoneyWell.plist) and then run MoneyWell again.

Just tried that and no change.

I am certain I deleted the correct pref file because all my other MW options were set back to default and I had to rearrange everything.

Peter: Well, I know the Open last document on startup works under Snow Leopard because I've been using it for months. And if no document opens, you should see the Welcome panel.

The fact that your recent file menu is blank is also odd. Where are you storing your MoneyWell document?

The MW document is in my user Documents folder where it has been the last year or so I have been using MW. I have never moved it and I just looked and it is still there.

All I can say is it worked yesterday morning under Leopard 10.5.8 and after Snow install it does not work.

I do get the "Welcome..." panel.

I fixed it! It is caused by Snow Leopard.

In the OS X Appearance pref pane there is a setting for number of recent items. I had all three settings set to "None". By changing the Documents setting to 5 it fixed the problem with Moneywell. (see my screen cap)

I want to stress that I did not change this setting since going to Snow Leopard. I have always had all three of these set to None in Leopard and just left them the same in Snow.

Apparently something about the way Snow handles this broke the "Open last document..." feature in Moneywell.

You probably never had the problem with Snow betas because you have this pref pane set to allow recent items?

Is there a way you can restore the behavior in Moneywell without me having to keep this recent items setting in the OS X pref pane system wide?

P.S Excellent support... on a Saturday no less!

Peter: Thanks for discovering this, I'm not used to hearing people changing this to none. In MoneyWell 1.4, it needs this list to open the last file. In 1.5, there will be a way to create an open files set (I always open a business and personal document when I run MoneyWell so it's tough for me to have just one automatic one open).
