Quicken import ignores transfers
In Quicken you can transfer money in a register by entering the account name, in brackets, in the Account field. The problem is that when the QXF file is imported into Moneywell, the bracket account is treated just like that ... an account name, in brackets. If Moneywell could deal with this, I could make the switch.

The problem is that the Quicken QIF file doesn't give enough information to reconnect transfers and the effort required to connect them is typically not work it so MoneyWell simply imports them and notes the original transfer destination in the memo.
Connected transfers can be created in MoneyWell and are useful if you need to adjust the amount soon after their creation.

Could MoneyWell make an assumption that accounts in [brackets] are
transfers?

Yes, but there is no unique identifier to match up transactions. There's also the problem of importing accounts at different times and having the transfers unmatched during each import.
It is possible, but the gain would probably require a user-review of each transfer and a interface design for this process. It's easier to treat historic transfers as bucket optional transactions and just create new transfers for the future.
