Buckets nesting
Re the previous nesting requests: I'm still working my way through the software, so apologies if there is a solution. If there isn't one, I think it's quite an Achilles Heel not to have nests/sub-catagories/mini-Buckets available SOMEWHERE in the program. If it's an architecture issue to modify the Buckets paradigm, that's one thing. However at least for end of the year/tax purposes, I would imagine I'm not the only one with the need for numerous Buckets(sub-categories) to be totaled into single Buckets. Whether it would be for organizing multiple income sources into one main income, or for expenses such as this example: Equipment:Video, Equipment:Audio and Equipment:Computer into just one Equipment Category, I honestly don't think this is such a minor request.
If creating sub-Buckets can't be done within the "the register"/main app window, couldn't there be a "smart" report that would subtotal/total the buckets? So that certain punctuation marks used within comparably named bucket descriptions (such as a slash or the colons from the above examples), would serve as a modifier that would simply trigger the software to total all these amounts into a single bucket for the report? Sort of like an invisible to the user Boolean search?

MoneyWell will be getting tags in a future release to let you report at a more granular level without losing the clarity of fewer buckets for cash flow management. This should solve your requirement.
If you just want several buckets to show up on a single report, you can use the Command key to add buckets to a selection so you can print out a report using that filtered grouping.

Thanks for your mighty quick response to my other query which I understand very well.
I've been pretty well convinced to purchase. But....
Could you PLEASE create a way to group Buckets into 'Barrels' (free offre to use the term) consisting of related Buckets? ie: Utilities, Housing, Transportation, Taxes, Health Care, Grocery.... I've been playing with the re-naming of buckets to do something sort of like that, but the window gets too wide. It would greatly facilitate analysis which is the reason for this whole project. I'm just trying to get a better handle on why and how I'm so poor..........
Additionally, how about adding 'Line graphs' to the graph area encompassing different time frames, like weeks and years, possibly tailored to the particular bucket/Barrel selected, please?
ps Your Spam rejector tool is pretty cool, too.

I'm looking into ways to group buckets for reporting purposes without causing a problem with cash flow management and hidden amounts.
Many more graphs and views are planned for future releases. I'm sure you'll love them.
The spam tool is part of this service, Tenderapp.com, and is very simple and cool. Thanks.

Well, I've gone and done it. Purchased and enabled.
However, I have found something that kinda rings a very faint bell about one of my very first chat's way, way back. This regards the Currency selection being defaulted to Sterling with no apparent means to correct to Canadian.
On my Powerbook: No Prob
On my iMac: British Pounds
Can't seem to find a way to fix. Have deleted, removed anything I could find rebooted, re-installed, re-downloaded AND dragged your app from my PB to my iMac.
No change at all.
Help?

Your buckets will show the currency you have set for your system in your System Preferences panel. MoneyWell simply asks OS X what currency to use. Check to make sure this is consistent between the two computers.

The Pref's are both the same.

Not that I don't believe you, but can you post screen shots of both System Preferences > International > Formats panels please?

You're absolutely right! I tried to get my iMac to show a 24 hour clock with Canadian dates. That effort somehow resulted in 'UK' being selected. I tried a different tack and all is well now.
Thank you for the clue that resulted in the solution.
You're too cool.....
